EOY - Feedback Part Two

For this, comment on what you liked this year. This is harder.... Do you have a favorite lesson?  I know, it's all about the Caught'yas and punctuation formulas, right?

I liked most of the stuff we did in your class. Most of the material is harder compared to other clases but some are fun like the EOY project. My favorate lesson was A Midsummer night's Dream because I've never read Shakespeare before and I found it very interesting.

  2. I liked the BLOG. Obviously.*dopey grin*

Ummmmm, I'm gonna sound like a huge nerd, but I liked the Caught'yas because it irks me when my sentences aren't punctuated correctly or when I make some other grammatical mistake. The Caught'yas helped me fix some of my mistakes, so I'm happy! :D Also, they were a lot better than copying down a million sentences out of a textbook just so that we can write a period at the end.

I enjoyed the poetry recitation as well; I thought that was pretty cool. That was probably the best way that I've seen poetry covered throughout my entire middle school years. (Go Robert Frost!)

I don't know, I consider it to have been a pretty good LA class.

PS- Oh, but I HATE LA EOY project. No offense.

I specifically loved the way you made the desks, so that we could sit with our friends, and work on the assignments with them together. Also (as you mentioned) I LOVE the formulas, they helped A LOOTTTT. I officially hate the grammar book as well(:

  5. I enjoyed all the lessons that we had throughout the year, but Star Wars was definitely the best. I am a HUGE Star Wars fan and i had never read the books before. This lesson inspired me to read the other two Books, "Empire Strikes Back" and "Return Of the Jedi." The things i disliked the most were
"Nothing But The Truth" and "Caught Ya."Nothing But The Truth was a boring book and Phillip annoyed me. Caught Ya' was useful yet challenging. I love the way Mrs. Powers teaches and i will miss her.

  6. I'm definitely having fun with the EOY project but I surprisingly loved the essays! I know it sounds ridiculous but they really helped me get better at writing. Since I love poetry, I figure reciting it and learning to write are two very good steps towards learning to put them together. So I love your class Mrs. Powers (and the video of you in your cape saying 'Fire Power!' ). I'll come and visit. I promise!!

  7. The best lesson of the year was the Midsummer Night's Dream group reading and then questions. The fun my group had in reciting those lines was one of the highlights in this year. Allowing us to sit in our groups of our choice helped make the year a lot better. I liked reading Star Wars only because it was so unexpected.

  8. This year in Language Arts we learned many new concepts of writing. By far my favorite thing that we did this year was read the book Star Wars because it was interesting and fun at the same time.

  9. I loved the whole class! However, I'd have to say my favorite parts were A Midsummer Night's Dream and this EOY project. Thanks for a great year!

  10. I have to say my favourite part was reading A Midsummer Night's Dream. I remember my second grade teacher reading the kid's version to us, and this just brought back SO many memories! :')

This EOY project seems pretty cool, too. It's like C-SPAN all over again! Haha...

  11. I love the end of the year project probably because I like filming. I really liked all the group work and how you would teach what we needed to know and then have discussions on anything we didn't understand with our other classmates. I can't stand the Jazz Age project though... Sorry.

  12. Oh and I don't like reciting poetry and all that stuff because I'm REALLY bad at it. I pretty much liked everything other than that though.
