Next year I am looking foward to driving to school (learners permit), block schedule, and meeting a lot of new people. I imagine high school generally being the same as middle school except for thousands of more students and a bigger campus.

  2. Here are some thoughts that come to mind when I think of high school:

-Hmmm, well, my schedule next year is going to be boring as a brick, so I'm looking forward to some clubs to liven things up.
-I'm excited to be coming back to the Cove to volunteer, so that's awesome.
-My attitude toward school will pretty much stay the same. Probably.
-I'm not too sure about the teachers. I hope they're good.
-The whole phony volunteering thing coming from other people is going to get pretty annoying. So is the fake interest in joining a million clubs so that they can all look like "well-rounded individuals."
    -Spanish is going to SUCK.
-I'm hoping the classes will be challenging so that things stay interesting.
-Campus wi-fi is pretty freaking cool.
-I wonder how much lunch will cost?

  3. Why don't we have campus wi-fi? I'm jealous. I could totally make a Scrabble move in between class if I had wi-fi!

I am looking forward to getting some of my service hours next year. My schedule is not going to be boring next year, so I probably won't doze off in class next year (not that I ever do). I believe band will be extremely entertaining, and I expect to make plenty of friends in high school. As long as they keep the block schedule over there, I will be productive. I hope that I don't get overwhelmed with homework every day of the year. High school will be a new experience, so I hope we all enjoy it.

Next year, I am looking forward to more freedom. I'm looking forward to longer classes so we don't have to be all frantic going from class to class. I am totally looking forward to meeting new people, and getting the opportunity to have classes or lunch/ to see my friends from Tequesta i never get to see! I am excited for the lunch(I heard it's pretty awesome.) I will miss Falcon Cove though!!! I hope to volunteer occasionally!

I'm really looking forward to seeing my old friends that I met last year in my electives. I've missed some of them far too much. Also, I've been told that we can eat lunch wherever we want, which is pretty cool. Also, I love the variety of food they have.
However, I think what people (and me) are mostly looking forward to are the clubs and the freedom. I know I'm excited to start in journalism, though I will miss band. After three years, you really grown into the instrument.

  7. For high school i'm really excited to be in the marching band. It might sound nerdy or whatever but im actually really pumped for it. Im excited to see all of my friends from last year, and to make new friends as well. I'm also extremely excited to be taking French next year as an elective, so now I can fit in if I go to France, or Canada =D. Sure, I'm going to miss middle school, but i can't wait to see what Cypress Bay has to offer.

  8. I think that will be a very fun and interesting time in my life. Hopefully, i like it as much as i liked Middle school. From what i hear, i will enjoy High School very much. I would like to meet many more people at High School and stay friends with everyone that went to the Cove. Coming back to Falcon Cove is also something that i look forward to, especially to volunteer with the debate classes. I will really miss my years of middle school, but i will probably love High School . I know that High School will be difficult but i am looking forward to the challenge. Next year is going to be fantastic.

  10. @Cat, we actually do have campus wifi at fcms. Anyways, besides that, I'm gonna have a pretty busy year next year, with all the classes I'm taking and the clubs I want to join. I look forward to it, though. The only downside is some of my friends are going to Cypress, but I'll make new ones and some are going to Heritage.

  11. On the academic side of High School, I'm extremely excited for Latin. It's always been a goal of mine to learn it and now I'll have a class for it! Another thing is the block schedule, it seems like it will help me to concentrate more because it will switch up what I'm learning.

On the social side of High School, I'll get to hang out with all my old 8th grade friends, the friends from this year, and make new friends. However, I'm kind of sad because a lot of my friends are going to other high schools.

Bottom line,I'm pretty sure next year is going to be awesome.

  12. Well to start off, block schedule should be interesting. I guess I'll find out whether or not its a good thing though. Also many of my long time friends are going to different schools, so I am bummed out about that. On the other hand, Cypress Bay has 6257 kids, as of last year. Yes I googled it. So that means plenty of new and interesting people to meet. From what I saw at the open house, and other people's comments, there are tons of clubs and extra stuff that are completely separate from school. If only there were enough hours in the day for all of it. I'm sure the extreme classes will be time consuming and difficult, as well. Another day, another challenge!

What I'm most looking forward about next year is the block schedule because I won't have as many classes to stress about at a time. Also, having eight classes is a great privilege because many other schools have less classes. for example American Heritage only has seven classes a year.
Next year I cant wait till I get all the freedoms included in being in high school.

  15. When I think of high school, I see a lot of studying, homework, and clubs/extracurricular activities. I think of high school as a time for a lot of hard work to boost my ranking and GPA. Besides the academics, high school will consist of making new friends and (hopefully) new (good) teachers. What I'm looking forward to the most is new-found freedom from my parents and visiting my brother at college! :)

I'm mainly excited for my forensics class next year. I love the rush of public speaking and I can't wait to get better and learn more about it. I'm also eager to go to and watch my first Aquinas football game (hopefully they win.) What I'm not too thrilled about for next year are the uniforms! No offense to people that actually like these but brown Sketcher's are the last shoes I ever thought I'd see on my feet. However, I can't deny that they are loads more comfortable than the shoes I wear nowadays and if everyone is going to be wearing them then it can't be too bad...

I imagine high school to be a mash up of "Breakfast Club", "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", and "Sixteen Candles." Oh, and don't forget "High School Musical" and it's fifty-million sequels... -_____-
On a more honest and serious note, high school will be a mix of stress and fun and it'll be over before I know it.

Who knows? a few musical numbers never hurt anyone...

  17. I hope I don't lose touch with all my friends when I go to West Broward. The teachers there are good and they have a lot of clubs that, although they are starting out, are really cool. I'm definitely going to miss the Cove and everyone in it (even the teachers). But I'm definitely hoping to get some good classes and meet lots of new people. :)

I'm mostly excited for a whole different setting. I want to see what it's like only having four long classes per day instead of 6 shorter ones. I am very excited to have more freedom and join new clubs. Also, i can't wait to meet tons of new people. Kids from other middle schools are coming to Cypress and I'm really excited to be with some of my friends from other schools.

  19. In High School I really can't wait to have block classes, meeting new people, and the freedom of High School. :)

  20. I am looking forward to many things in high school! Some of the things I can think if right now is more freedom, clubs, block schedule (I'm hoping that will relieve some stress), and meeting new people. I feel like I've gotten so used to middle school and now, I'm really ready to change things up and "expand my horizons".

  21. Wow. Where to start? I'm really looking forward to high school, although I'll sure miss Falcon Cove!

Anyways, a few things that come to mind that I'm really excited for are: the block schedule (I'm hoping with only 4 classes, it'll be easier to study/maintain straight A's...), clubs, and meeting new people.
