What do you think The PowersShuffle is?
Hints:
It's not a dance move or my iPod.
Mr. Bryant coined the phrase. *Update: Mr. Hammerman coined the phrase. Mr. Bryant simply uses it often. Well, as often as is necessary. I guess. *Update to the update: Mr. Bryant did coin the phrase. I was right the first time. I should always go with my gut.

Is it the way you walk in the morning when you're tired and haven't had your coffee yet? Like a kind of slumped trudging or so is what I'm saying.

ReplyDeletePrize is?
Guessing that it is spelled "The PowerShuffle" with a capital "S", it is a noun, can't be a person or a place, maybe an idea or thing.
–noun
12. a scraping movement; dragging gait.
13. an evasive trick; evasion.
14. an act or instance of shuffling.
15. Cards .
a. a shuffling of cards in a pack.
b. the right or turn to shuffle preparatory to dealing: You win the shuffle.
16. a dance in which the feet are shuffled along the floor.
Its not an iPod or a dance move, so only #13 really works- an evasive trick or evasion.
Knowing Mr.Bryant its probably having something to do with getting away from working, so maybe it means making up an excuse to get away from something? Or maybe a kid escaping from doing work?
This is pretty much a long shot.

Rodolfo way to look up the word shuffle in some dictionary. I agree with cat, im guessing its some sort of walk, or trudge that Mr. Bryant does after he is done talking to Mrs. Powers and he shuffles back into his room through the connecting door.
ReplyDeleteRo is so close....
ReplyDeleteIs it when you have to be secretary for Mr. Bryant?
ReplyDeleteNot the way I walk (with or without coffee).
ReplyDeleteNot my fabulous secretarial skills.
Nothing to do with essays or playlists.
Ro is the closest. And I'm pretty sure I'm doing it again today.

ReplyDeleteOK, YOU are doing it.....
So you're excusing or distracting youself from doing some of the essay grading?
I'm confident in this...

I WANT TO WIN BEFORE SOMEONE GETS IT!!!
Could the PowersShuffle be a way of getting through
ReplyDeletethe grading process and in way of shuffling
through it and skimming so that you have less work
and can have the ability to grade more in a small
amount of time.

Aha! I think I know. Saying you'll grade papers (or even taking them home), but then
ReplyDelete1) Putting it off for a long time
2) Not grading at all.

*EDIT: 2) Not grading THEM at all
ReplyDeleteI think the PowersShuffle is taking home papers to grade and then not grading them.

This was amusing. If I had checked and commented on this blog earlier, I would have guessed that the PowerShuffle was the way you walked. This is because Mr. Bryant seems like the type of person who would point out your height, and small things don't really walk. Since I am 99.9% sure that you have no idea what I am talking about, here is an example: Mice scurry. Mice are very small creatures, and people never say that mice walk because it sounds weird. Also, mice have a very small stride which is why they have to scurry and move their legs fast to move. This led me to conclude that Mr. Bryant meant that because your strides are so small, it would be considered shuffling, not walking. Well, now I know that I was wrong. By the way, this was not meant to be mean. I am short too! Short people are cute and cuddly, so I take pride in my height. I may be small, but I've got it all! I don't know who said this, but "We short people have a great perspective in life; we are always looking up.":)
